The Finance Officer will be responsible for maintaining the accounts in conjunction with the Finance Manager and Chief Finance Officer.
Keep up-to-date system books of accounts in the format prescribed in the Finance Policy or best accounting practice
Manage the full finance function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
Maintain the regional Fixed Assets Register and keep proper records of all assets.
Work with the auditors to ensure annual audited accounts are prepared and ready for the Board AGM.
Monitor incoming payments from accounts receivable and outgoing payments from accounts payable
Examine the proficiency of the software programs used to organize data and advising on any such improvements that will enhance efficient service delivery.
Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures to be included in CFA finance policy.
Comply with state, and local financial legal requirements.
Perform monthly Payroll of the organization and ensure that you capture correct details of employees, accurate deductions according to current legislation.
Prepare and filing tax returns i.e., EMP201, VAT201, EMP501 and ITR12El annually.
Perform monthly bank reconciliation on QuickBooks, Sage Pastel and Pay space Online
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
Monitor cash flow, expenditures, and financial performance
Perform month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and maintain financial statements, reports, and management accounts
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support the organization's decisions
Maintain and improve accounting systems and processes
Work with centres in Gauteng province and other regions to streamline transactions.
Prepare Cash flow forecasting and cash flow management
Preparing and regularly updating the Cash Budget
Regularly updating the assets register with additions, disposals and depreciation
