Lead Financial Operations in the Mining Industry!

Our Client is a thriving mining company operating in South Africa, contributing significantly to the mining sectors growth. With a robust turnover of approximately R500 million per annum and a dedicated team of around 300 employees, this company plays a pivotal role in shaping the industrys future.

If youre a seasoned Finance Manager with a proven track-record of driving financial growth, implementing efficient systems and compliance standards and leading successful teams, wed like to speak to you.

Key Responsibilities for this Role will Include:

• Financial Leadership: As the torchbearer of our companys financial function, you will provide strategic guidance and actionable insights to drive sound decision-making.

• Team Mastery: Lead and mentor a team of approximately four finance professionals, including debtors, creditors, and administration experts. Your leadership will empower them for success.

• Financial Reporting Excellence: Oversee the production of accurate and timely financial statements. Your commitment to IFRS standards will be instrumental in refining and enhancing reporting processes.

• Budgeting Brilliance: Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor financial performance against objectives and provide well-informed recommendations.

• Strategic Financial Prowess: Partner with the Managing Director to contribute to the financial strategys development and execution, aligned with our overall business vision.

• Process Enhancement: Uncover opportunities for process optimization and automation within the finance function. Implement effective systems and procedures for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.

• Compliance and Vigilance: Uphold financial regulations, taxation, and legal requirements. Maintain an audit-ready trail and ensure robust internal controls.

• Collaborative Insights: Collaborate seamlessly with various departments to bolster operational and strategic endeavours. Offer financial insights that fuel informed decision-making.

• Stakeholder Relations: Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including financial institutions, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• Additional postgraduate or professional qualifications (CIMA, CPA, etc.) are a distinct advantage.

• Completion of Articles (e.g., SAIPA, SAICA) is essential.

• Proven track record of at least 15 years in progressively responsible finance roles, including a minimum of 5 years in a managerial capacity.

• Profound experience in managing financial operations, spanning reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.

• Prior exposure to the mining or related industries is advantageous.

• Adeptness in financial software and systems, complemented by advanced Excel skills.

• Exceptional leadership and team management skills, showcasing your prowess in mentoring, development, and team leadership.

• Stellar communication and interpersonal abilities, allowing you to seamlessly interact across all organizational levels.
