Finance Manager & Operations Controller - Construction Company based in Cape Town
Location: Cape Town CBD
Contract: Fixed-term, 3 months (with potential to extend)
Salary: R30,000 - R50,000 gross per month (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a methodical and detail-oriented Finance & Operations Controller to support and strengthen financial and operational controls across multiple business divisions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structure, cost allocation, and gaining clear visibility into divisional profitability.
Key Responsibilities

• Allocate costs accurately across different business divisions
• Track and report on profitability per division
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Assist with auditing processes and financial reviews
• Implement and maintain basic financial and operational controls across divisions
• Oversee labour-related costs, including wages and staff cost allocations
• Monitor operational costs and identify inefficiencies
• Work closely with management to provide clear financial insights and reports

Key Requirements

• Highly methodical, organised, and detail-focused
• Strong understanding of cost allocation and divisional reporting
• Experience with VAT returns and basic auditing processes
• Ability to implement and enforce financial controls
• Comfortable overseeing labourers, wages, and operational costs
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a contract role
