Job Description

My client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead their finance department, overseeing a range of critical responsibilities to ensure the financial health and success of their organization.

This role is based in Birdhaven, Johannesburg North.

Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Maintenance:

• Record day-to-day financial transactions with precision and accuracy.
• Reconcile accounts promptly, proactively resolving any discrepancies.

Debtors and Creditors Management:

• Oversee debtors, ensuring timely collection of receivables.
• Manage creditors and cashbooks, reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial statements.
• Provide insightful financial reports and analysis to support decision-making processes.

Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
• Calculate, submit, and ensure timely payment of income tax and VAT.
• Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.

Budget Support:

• Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets.
• Provide comprehensive variance analysis and explanations for budgetary deviations.

Cash Flow Management:

• Monitor and optimize cash flow to enhance liquidity and financial stability.
• Implement strategies to improve working capital efficiency.

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
• Provide strategic insights to management for informed decision-making.

Team Leadership:

• Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Coordinate and oversee day-to-day financial operations.

Other:

• Drive system improvements and automation initiatives.
• Flexibility to handle any additional tasks as required by management.

Qualifications and Experience Needed:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Completed SAICA/SAIPA Articles is preferred.
• 5 years' experience in financial management.
