To ensure the reliability of accounting and manage the
financial reporting of PEP Africa's subsidiaries and end-to-end project management of financialrelated projects, as well as provide advice and support to Management to enable them to make informed business decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribution to Strategy:
? Provide input and support the implementation of the Finance strategy that is aligned with the annual business strategy
? Communication & execution of subsequent action plans (i.e. specifications, timelines and budget)
Team Management:
? Establishes clear, specific and measurable objectives for the team and drives team delivery and contribution
? Motivates, inspires and builds team morale and culture by recognising and celebrating successes
Management Accounts and Statutory Reporting:
? Manage key financial processes such as CEO Report, Pepkor Report, New Accounting
standards, annual budgets, quarterly forecasts for ISBS, Annual audits,etc
? Manage various reports to the business (e.g. store income statements, cellfin, income
statement, Exco reports and presentations, etc)
Treasury Management:
? Manage all banking relationships, systems and payments for PEP Africa
? Manage all store deposits & card transactions for stores across the Africa countries
Stock and GP's:
? Ensure accurate and timely recording, as well as analysis of inventory entries (CFH, FMCG and Cellular) as well as monitoring of effective Gross Profit %
? Review and reconciliation of inventory export and import entries
Compliance Management:
? Ensure compliance and relevant report back with regards to the South African Reserve and other relevant legislation (including VAT acts) pertaining to imports and export transactions
? Monitor compliance to local in-country (in Africa) central bank legislation compliance and support Country Financial Managers to ensure compliance
Policies and procedures
? Maintain agreed and standardised Treasury policies and procedures, including but not limited to Minimum cash balances per annum, Counterparty risk and Repatriations priority etc.
Tax Management
? Ensure timely submission and payment of the various returns (VAT, PAYE, Tax, etc.)
? Ensure accurate and on time accounting and reporting of Tax in line with IFRS and/or local GAAP
Ad hoc tasks and involvement in projects
JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS
? Qualified CA (SA)
? 5+ years' experience in Finance environment (of which at least 3 years' audit management experience)
? 3 years leadership/management experience (advantageous)
? Retail industry experience will be advantageous
? Knowledge of financial control environment and governance
? Understanding of the business, industry and economic environment and relevant role-players
? Knowledge of accounting for foreign currencies and consolidation is desirable
? Computer literacy: Advanced level (MS Office Software, Google Suite and Financial systems)
? Willingness to travel to Africa on an ad hoc basis
? South African citizen
