Job Description

The Finance Manager plays a key role in safeguarding and managing sacred funds entrusted to the Church in support of its religious mission. Reporting to a Controller, this position oversees a team of finance professionals, including Accountants, Financial Analysts, Finance Supervisors, and Accounting Clerks ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of financial transactions. The role is accountable for maintaining strong internal controls, overseeing reconciliations, and driving both the quality and efficiency of the unit's work, while upholding the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.



Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, including Accountants, Financial Analysts, Finance Supervisors, and Accounting Clerks. Oversee staffing, selection, performance management, training, and employee development within the unit. Assign and monitor work to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls. Research and resolve complex financial and accounting issues related to the unit's responsibilities. Collaborate with international accounting and finance teams to support global operations. Ensure all reports, reconciliations, and financial disclosures comply with regulatory requirements, professional standards, and organizational policies. Contribute to the direction and administration of the Church's financial operations, safeguarding sacred funds with integrity and confidentiality. Manage the preparation, analysis, and review of budgets and financial operating reports. Participate in special projects or committees as assigned. Perform individual contributor functions of senior-level financial analysis as needed, focusing on department or corporate-level initiatives.

Must hold a current / valid temple recommend and/or be worthy to hold one. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (CA (SA) or MBA preferred). 10+ years of progressive professional finance or accounting experience. Technical knowledge of accounting, auditing, risk management, tax, and financial management. Experience with IFRS and Auditing Standards. Exposure to COSO. Strong knowledge of financial management principles, accounting standards, and internal controls. Proficiency in PCs, networks, and software applications including spreadsheets and databases (Power BI, Tableau). Experience with general ledger and international accounting systems, including the ability to write and use queries for reporting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to diverse audiences. Strong leadership and people management skills with experience leading multidisciplinary teams. * High level of integrity, confidentiality, and commitment to organizational values.
