Role Overview:



The Accounts and Finance Lead is a crucial role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations and accounting functions across our multi-site healthcare business. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong technical accounting skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience managing financial processes in a multi-location environment. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, contribute to the development of financial strategies, and provide valuable insights to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:



Financial Accounting and Reporting:

Manage the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements. Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled across all sites. Develop and maintain robust accounting policies and procedures, ensuring consistency across all locations. Coordinate and support the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely provision of information.

Multi-Site Financial Management:

Implement and monitor financial controls across all sites to safeguard company assets. Develop and maintain a clear understanding of the financial performance of each individual site. Consolidate financial data from multiple locations to provide a comprehensive overview of the company's financial position. Work with site managers to ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures. Ability to plan and manage budgets across the sites, working with the care managers and the finance team.

Management Accounting and Analysis:

Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, providing insightful commentary. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor financial performance across the business. Responsible for quarterly management accounts and reports, finalising annual audits, and preparing Board presentations and minutes. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and regular forecasts, working collaboratively with departmental heads. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks. Provide financial information and support for strategic decision-making. Good knowledge and understanding of corporate tax provisions, and ability to liaise with tax advisors for maintaining regular statutory and tax records

Team Leadership and Development:

Supervise and mentor the accounts and finance team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Allocate tasks and responsibilities effectively within the team. Support the professional development of team members through training and coaching. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Process Improvement and Systems:

Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of financial accounting software and systems. Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all financial systems. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.

Stakeholder Management:

Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including site managers and operational teams. Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders. An experience dealing with Private equity will be a beneficial attribute. Liaise with external stakeholders such as banks, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications and Experience:



Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with post-qualification experience of 3 to 5 years. Proven experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within a multi-site organisation (healthcare experience is advantageous). Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and relevant accounting principles. Excellent understanding of financial controls and procedures. Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel (advanced level) and Xero. Experience with financial consolidation. Demonstrable experience in preparing management accounts and conducting financial analysis. Experience of supervising and developing a small finance team.

Pay: R35000,00 - R40000,00 per month
