We are looking for a motivated Finance Intern to join our Finance team. This opportunity is designed for a recent Accounting graduate who has successfully passed Accounting 3 and is eager to build a strong foundation in finance and property management.
You will work closely with the Finance team to gain practical, hands-on experience in reconciliations, reporting, financial administration, and compliance while supporting day-to-day departmental operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist all members of the Finance Team with accounting and admin tasks.
Sort and file financial documents.
Process entries on the accounting software package.
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations (cashbook, trial balance accounts, etc.).
Provide regular updates on reconciliations and assigned tasks.
Assist with journal entries, management packs, intercompany reconciliations, and VAT/budget preparation.
Follow up on outstanding information with internal and external parties.
Review and compare budget vs actual reports, noting and explaining variances.
Gain a full understanding of the entity's finance processes and contribute to process improvements.
Perform all admin and ad hoc duties as assigned by your manager.
Maintain compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and audit standards.
Take on additional responsibilities as you progress through the internship.
Provide feedback on your own development needs and continuous learning.
Education & Qualifications
Matric / Grade 12 (with strong results in Accounting and Maths).
Completed Bachelor of Commerce Accounting degree or Diploma (Essential).
Must have passed Accounting 3 with strong results (official transcript required with application).
Knowledge & Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel (Intermediate/Advanced), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Good knowledge of accounting principles
Familiarity with accounting software packages.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal in English).
Organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
