Advance financial and accounting knowledge
will enable you to:
Financial Management:
Prepare Detailed Income Statement and Statement of Financial Position with supporting schedules for the whole organisation and per department on a monthly basis
Review Detailed Income Statement and investigate variances and movements against the budget/ forecast on a monthly basis.
Provide financial report, with variances flagged, to COO on a monthly basis
Compile financial reports and distribute timeously on a monthly basis to managers, Financial Committee and external stakeholders, as required
Compile the financial committee pack on a quarterly basis, attend quarterly Financial Committee meeting and record meeting minutes
Provide Investment, Debtors (Rental) and Financial report to CIO
Prepare quarterly cashflow forecasts
Facilitate the information flow during the budget process
Consolidate financial information obtained to compile departmental budgets and organisational budget on annual basis (October/November)
Make changes to the budget based on review panel and board feedback
Arrange audit with external auditor and agree on timeline and deliverables for audit
Ensure that the information in audit file is complete and accurate
Liaise with Auditors during audit process and assist with requests for information
Financial Accounting:
Oversee the daily and monthly recording of financial information and assist team with related queries thereto
Review financial information of a monthly basis to ensure accuracy
Sign off on reconciliation of control accounts prepared by finance staff
Ensure bookkeeper submits PAYE and VAT returns on monthly basis
Review debtors on a regular basis and ensure appropriate action is taken to resolve any issues
Review cash flow requirements on a continual basis and raise concerns with COO and CEO
Governance and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with the law and companyxe2x80x99s policies, with regards to finance and labour law. Adhere to good accounting practices, regulations, the Company Act and South African labour laws and recommendations.
Perform risk management by identifying risks related to the organisationxe2x80x99s financial position, compliance and ethics.
Stay up to date with good financial practices and requirements and labour legislation
Advise and make recommendations to Exco and the Board to ensure the company's standard operations and policies relating to Human Resources and Finance are aligned with legislative requirements and good practice
Human Resource Management:
Develop, manage and implement systems and processes to support effective HR service delivery, including recruitment, renumeration, on boarding and contract management
Oversees the administration of human resource activities including, but not limited to, compensation and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; and performance management.
Provide guidance to managers and team leaders with regards to human resource policy, good practice and legislation to provide decision support
Ensure the creating and updating of policy handbook
Ensure a confidential personnel record system containing all pertinent data for each employee and the record storage inline with statutory requirements
Ensure payroll compliance which includes the payroll system, accuracy of payroll, payroll taxes and submissions.
Compile human resource reports on a monthly basis for Exco and other stakeholders, on an ad hoc basis
