Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Define and drive the division's short- and long-term financial goals, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Provide strategic input to the CEO International and Group CFO to support sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with IFRS, local accounting standards, and Group Accounting Policies. Oversee accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting to support decision-making at the highest level.
  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Lead the treasury function, manage banking relationships, and implement effective cash flow strategies. Drive working capital improvements and ensure the integrity of the balance sheet across all countries.
  • Tax & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage complex tax and regulatory environments across multiple jurisdictions, including transfer pricing and statutory reporting.
  • Internal Controls & Risk Management: Establish and maintain robust internal controls and risk management frameworks. Ensure efficient financial processes and systems are in place to support operational excellence and future scalability.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting cycles. Provide financial insights and analysis to country management teams to support performance steering and profitability.
  • Corporate Finance & Capital Planning: Manage capital requirements, debt structuring, and taxation strategies in line with business needs and group policies.
  • Systems Implementation: Oversee the implementation and optimisation of finance systems and ERP platforms to align with international group standards.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Inspire and manage a geographically dispersed team of Finance Directors and Managers. Drive performance, foster professional development, and support career growth across the region.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, advisors, and regulatory bodies. Represent the finance function with credibility and professionalism.
Skills and Competencies
  • Expert Knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards across African jurisdictions.
  • Strong Financial Acumen with deep experience in accounting, auditing, tax, and treasury functions.
  • Leadership Excellence with a proven ability to lead and inspire cross-border teams in complex, multicultural environments.

  • Change Leadership with a track record of driving transformation and implementing finance systems and ERP platforms.

Qualifications
  • Chartered Accountant (CA(SA), ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related field (a postgraduate qualification is advantageous)
  • Minimum 7 years post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
  • Proven track record in a large multinational organisation, ideally with operations across Africa.
  • Experience in managing multi-country finance teams and navigating complex regulatory environments.
  • Strong exposure to transfer pricing, IFRS, taxation, and banking systems in both South Africa and the broader African region.
