We're hiring for a Graduate as Field Sciences Assistant.

As Graduate Field Sciences Assistant you will be responsible for assisting the Research Scientists with trial execution and data collection for field efficacy experiments containing biotech traits against major maize and soybean pests, observations of non-target insects (NTOs) and monitoring trial success and progress. You will be involved in administrative duties, general trial and regulatory requirement activities, data collection and assist with summarization.
You Will Be Part of Growing Team
Trait Characterization and Development is a research and development department within Corteva Agriscience, a testing program in RSA designed for the efficacy characterization of primarily insect control traits in maize and soybean (both regulated and non-regulated). You will be part of the team that will be evaluating and executing the trials and will work firsthand with the development and commercial support of biotech traits.
Your Challenge:
Support successful execution of field trials for insect control traits in corn and soybeans.
Accompany Research Scientists on off-site field visits (sleep out as needed)
Follow protocols and ensure regulatory compliance.
Collect trial data that support product decisions.
Collaborate across R&D, regulatory, and commercial teams.
Support commercialization of biotech traits like PowerCore and Conkesta E3.
Promote safety, stewardship, and integrated pest management.
General administrative and regulatory duties.
Key Stakeholders and Interactions:
You will work with research scientists in the office, field and lab daily and get great exposure to research and development activities as well as breeding, regulatory and other commercial activities as part of a cross-functional collaborative team in South Africa

You will be located in Delmas, Mpumalanga.
To Grow What Matters, You Will Need
BAgric, BSc Hon or MSc in Agriculture (Entomology, Integrated Pest Management, Plant sciences, Plant Physiology, Agronomy or a combination of these relevant fields).
Proven experience in field trials advantageous.
Driver's license with driving of a SUV size vehicle experience is a critical requirement.
Advanced MS Office skills (especially Power point and Excel).
Administrative skills - attention to detail, submitting of timely reports and weekly schedule of activities, perform tasks and fulfill commitments with deadlines.
Good interpersonal relationships with clear communication and ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Ability to work independently and a commitment to excellence in delivering required results.
Knowledge of the methodology for conducting field trials and collection of data and knowledge of agricultural legislation in South Africa is beneficial.
Language: Fluent writing, reading and speaking in English.
