Gibela Rail Transport Consortium invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Field Modification Team Leader position. The position will report to the CPT Depot Manager. The successful candidate will be based in Western Cape Depot, Paarden Eiland.

Purpose of the Job

It is to carry reworks, retrofits, end manufacturing repairs and/or any other work assigned by the depot to achieve depot key performance indicators (KPI) . Lead and manage a team of Operators.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 or N3 equivalent Certificate
• Mechanical, Electrical Fitter with Trade Test
• IT literacy (MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Technical background with 2 to 5 years' experience, preferably in the railway industry.
• Ability to read and understand electrical, digital and Pneumatic schematic diagrams.
• Team Management experience

Main Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and coach the team to always meet execution plan set targets.
• Manage team skills matrix, identify gaps and develop each team member IDP.
• Ensure team safety by providing proper PPE and ensuring that the team follow and comply to site safety procedures and processes.
• Manage and drive performance of the team by ensuring daily SAY - DO ratio targets are met.
• Responsible for meeting quality assurance standards as set by industry programs, such as ISO and Six Sigma.
• Formally report all non- conformances picked by the team during execution.
• Support Quality and play active role on resolving all the NCR raised by the depot
• Set high performance standards to achieve depot main KPI's (Availability, Reliability, Safety, Quality, etc) .
• Define and support Industrial tooling with specifications on any of the tools that will improve time spent to activities.
• Manage team SES usage (Methods time Vs Actual)
