Job Description

Joining and maintaining of Copper Cables
Splicing and terminating of all main optic fibre cables
Maintaining the networks
Building off new cable routing
Testing off all new copper & fiber optic cable projects after completion
The investigation and repair of faulty services
Cutover and remaking of communication joints
The completion off all relevant reports and documentation, detailing test results
The requesting and managing of all materials needed for specific projects
Managing projects to ensure no over or under spending occurs and it is completed on time
Oversee tasks on site as per required standards
Report any challenges or shortcoming to direct line manager
Effective management of test and splicing equipment
Continuously conduct tests and repair fibre related faults
Comply with all health and safety requirements
Ensure that response and repair times are kept within service delivery parameters
Broadening own functional and technical and industry competencies
Timely fault escalation within an hour to direct line manager
Ensure that all job cards, incident reports & stock sheets are fully completed and submitted within
time parameters
Ensure that test results are recorded, updates and communicated to the customer
Daily patrolling and supervising allocated areas and jobs
Take full responsibility of company vehicle and equipment under its control
Attend meetings (operational and / or site planning) as and when required
Drawing up scope off work, drawings and quotations
Attend trainings when required
Stock Room management & reporting ensuring adequate stock levels
Training safety induction
Tool box talks
Risk assessments before commencing a job
Health records are up to date and valid licences e.g. height
Continuous planned work & execution
Ensuring work permits are secured before commencing any work

Must have experience in copper & fibre optic cabling (installation & fault finding)
Must have a

Drivers Licence code 8

Must be in good health
Must be willing to work overtime & weekends
Microsoft and Drawing application experience is advantageous
Supervisory and co-ordination experience is advantageous

Job Type: Temp to perm
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: R8000,00 - R13000,00 per month
