Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Trend research for Merchandisers buying trip.
• Assisting the Merchandiser with trend presentations for presentation to buyers.
• Working with the Merchandiser on buyers briefs and design requirements.
• Providing input on relevant design direction based on retail activity and newness in trend/product etc.
• Keeping up to date with trends to provide innovative product updates in alignment with customer brands and existing programs/products.
• Photographing and numbering of all overseas samples.
• Creating comprehensive tech packs for suppliers (CAD, TD, Spec, Artwork, Swatches, etc)
• Briefing suppliers on design requirements and additional packaging etc pertaining to each style.
• Checking fit and sample submissions from a design point of view.
• Participating in fittings and technical discussions (design, pattern, fabric, construction, fit).
• Assisting with fabric and trims approvals.
• Working with Merch/Sales and Production teams on queries pertaining to styling, construction, and product requirements.
• Weekly Cad overview updates by style/program/customer.
• Updating packaging booklets every season.
• Tracking and managing all overseas samples/showing samples/meeting samples.
• End of season rail clean i.e. fit samples, rail samples, duplicates, etc (team effort).

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in fashion design or similar.
• Min 3-5 years working experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Competent in producing CADs and technical drawings.
• Ability to take direction and produce accurate and detailed work.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Creative, fashion forward, and passionate about design.
• Must have a Design Portfolio available to view.
