Introduction
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Department Manager to oversee the Fashion, Beauty, and Home departments in a leading retail store in Soweto. The ideal candidate is passionate about customer experience, fashion trends, and team development. This role offers the opportunity to lead a fast-paced department, drive sales, and ensure an outstanding shopping environment.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
Drive sales and profitability across Fashion, Beauty & Home departments
Lead and motivate department staff to achieve performance goals
Ensure excellent visual merchandising and product presentation
Manage stock levels, replenishment, and markdowns
Deliver exceptional customer service standards
Monitor daily operations, resolve issues, and escalate where necessary
Conduct performance reviews, staff coaching, and development
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Work closely with store and area managers on promotional planning and execution
Education Profile
Requirements:
Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
Minimum 2-3 years of fashion retail management experience
Valid driver's license and own vehicle
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Passion for fashion, beauty, home decor and current trends
Ability to manage under pressure and in a high-volume environment
Computer literate (MS Office, POS systems, reporting tools)
Willingness to work retail hours, weekends, and public holidays
Ideal Candidate:
Lives in or near Soweto or willing to travel
Trend-conscious, sales-driven, and customer-focused
Experienced in managing diverse product categories
Strong operational and merchandising background
