Our client is within the fashion accessories / retail sector and is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Fashion Accessory Planner and Procurement Specialist to join their dynamic team. This position will report directly to the Marketing Director.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the planning and procurement processes for the fashion accessory line, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products that meet companyxe2x80x99s standards and customer expectations.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demand Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, sales, and marketing to develop accurate demand forecasts for fashion accessories based on historical data, market trends, and customer insights.
• Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory, ensuring availability of products while avoiding overstock situations.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Procurement: Source and procure materials, components, and finished goods from domestic and international suppliers, ensuring quality standards are met while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
• Production Planning: Coordinate with manufacturing partners to develop production schedules that align with demand forecasts and delivery timelines, optimizing efficiency and minimizing lead times.
• Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and enforce quality standards throughout the procurement and production processes, ensuring that all fashion accessories meet our companyxe2x80x99s quality requirements.
• Risk Management: Identify potential supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions, such as sourcing alternative suppliers or implementing inventory buffers.
• Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to anticipate changes in consumer preferences and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with the merchandising, marketing, and sales teams to develop effective strategies for product promotion and sales.
• Travel: Attend trade shows, fashion events, and sourcing trips to stay informed about industry trends and developments.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12
• Related post graduate degree

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in demand planning, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the fashion accessory industry
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, forecast demand, and identify trends.
• Strong understanding of fashion trends, consumer behavior, and market dynamics.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems, with experience in forecasting and inventory management modules.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to take initiative to drive continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with inventory management software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.
