Job Description
- Minimum of a National Diploma in Agriculture with focus on Horticulture, Pomology, or Crop Production
- Preferred qualification: BSc Agriculture or BTech Agriculture with specialisation in fruit production, irrigation management, or plant protection
- Additional short courses in farm business management, financial management, labour relations, or health and safety will be advantageous
- Proven experience in fruit farming with specific exposure to apples and pears (pome fruit)
- In-depth knowledge of modern orchard practices including irrigation, crop protection and pruning systems
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and control costs
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to supervise, motivate and develop teams
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in Afrikaans and English
- Self-driven and able to work independently while taking initiative
- Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic agricultural environment
- Computer literacy in farm management systems and MS Office
- Valid driver's license and willingness to reside on the farm
- Commitment to the long-term success and sustainable growth of the farming operation
