Job Purpose
To provide assistance to the Dean of the Faculty in managing the faculty including academic administrative, human resources and financial functions of the faculty. To give effect to policies governing these areas, as well as student affairs in the faculty. To provide effective management according to business management principles. To ensure effective delivery of operational support services to faculty staff. Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
A relevant four-year tertiary qualification At least four years' relevant experience in a senior administrative or managerial role in a tertiary institution. A demonstrable high level of understanding of academic administrative processes in a Higher Education setting, i.e. Registration and administration processes, graduation, assessment management, marks administration, etc. Knowledge of South African Higher Education policies Willingness to travel between campuses Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
Management of all faculty office staff Providing strategic direction with regards to all administrative systems in the faculty Academic administration Financial management (incl. coordination and planning of the faculty budget and budget process for all departments within the faculty) Human Resources management Management of operational aspects of the faculty across all sites Development, implementation and management of Quality assurance (QA) systems at faculty level Advising on and planning infrastructural needs Marketing Health and Safety Perform any other functions related to the operations of the Faculty as may be assigned by the Dean Competencies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent planning and organizing skills Excellent financial management skills Excellent human resource management skills Excellent administration skills Occupational Health and safety awareness Computer Literacy (Applied knowledge of MS Suite and Office 365) Research skills Technical/professional knowledge and skills in ITS and administration Report writing and delivery General Information
