Job Description
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
- At least 8 years' relevant experience either in a similar role or as construction manager/foreman at a reputable construction company. Relevant qualification beneficial.
- Knowledge of concrete, formwork, reinforcing steel and pre-tension steel
- Preferred knowledge of mechanical equipment including concrete batch plant, saw cutting machines, hydraulic jacks and overhead cranes
- Proficiency in MS Office and fluent in both English & Afrikaans
- Strong interpersonal, communication and administrative skills
- Ability to lead a dynamic team
- Deadline and programme driven - ability to adhere to time programmes
- Will suite an energetic go getter, who will be able to run an 18-hour operational factory with a staff compliment of 50, 6 days a week.
- Working hours : 7am - 5pm daily, and until 3pm on a Friday
- Supervision / monitoring of factory operations to ensure productivity, quality, and safety
- Cost control: Raw material & Wastage (Expenses vs budget)
- Staff: Two shifts, 5 supervisors - manage overtime
- Products : stairs, beams and lintels
- Production driven ensure daily, weekly and monthly targets are met.
- Planning & costing as well as lane stripping
- Management and communication to ensure that supervisors, operators and general workers understand the requirements of the daily tasks which have been assigned to them
- Capturing and reporting of daily progress reports
- OHS management ensuring the factory is managed in a safe manner
