Primary objective of the role

To ensure that all facilities at Scamont's operating sites are well-maintained, secure, compliant, and operationally efficient. The Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for the management of physical infrastructure, building systems, security and surveillance operations, cleaning, general site services, and the company's vehicle fleet. The role requires the effective coordination of internal teams and service providers to maintain operational readiness across all properties while minimizing costs and ensuring legal compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities

Facilities and Maintenance Management:*
Oversee the maintenance and functionality of all buildings, machinery support systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), and critical infrastructure. Manage both reactive and preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and maintain asset lifespan. Collaborate with divisional and production leaders to plan site improvements or facility modifications required for operational needs Execution of small to medium maintenance tasks (welding, drilling, etc)

Security Operations:*
Manage security personnel and third-party security contractors. Ensure implementation of robust access control procedures, CCTV monitoring, perimeter fencing, alarms, and incident response protocols. Conduct routine security audits, risk assessments, and investigations into breaches or incidents. Collaborate with HR and senior management on internal investigations or disciplinary actions related to security concerns _

Fleet Management

_ Oversee the maintenance and licensing of all company-owned vehicles and mobile equipment (including delivery trucks, utility vehicles, forklifts, etc.). Develop and manage and report on fleet usage policies and ensure logbooks, tracking systems, and fuel usage reports are maintained accurately. Schedule and manage vehicle servicing, insurance, accident repairs, and replacement planning. Work in collaboration with Inventory control managers, store managers and field technicians to ensure effective utilization of Fleet.

Budget and Cost Control:*
Prepare and manage the facilities and fleet operations budget. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in utility usage, service contracts, and asset lifecycle management.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:*
Ensure the facilities comply with all OHSA requirements, fire codes, and environmental regulations. Work closely with the Health & Safety Officer to coordinate audits, emergency response plans, fire drills, and hazard control systems. _

Asset and Documentation Control:

_ Maintain accurate asset registers for building infrastructure, maintenance tools, and vehicles. Ensure that licenses, permits, and warranties are documented and up-to-date.

Space Planning and Site Optimization:*
Monitor space utilization across buildings and propose reconfigurations to support operational needs. Collaborate with HR and Operations on workspace ergonomics, employee facilities, and site aesthetics.

Qualifications & Skills Qualifications:

National Senior Certificate (NSC), equivalent to a Grade 12 qualification, or a higher qualification such as a diploma or degree. At least 5-8 years' experience in a similar facilities or operations role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong understanding of building systems, security protocols, and fleet operations. Excellent project management and vendor negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and respond quickly to facility emergencies. Good leadership and interpersonal skills. Drivers Licence
