What are we looking for?



We are looking for someone with the following experience, qualifications and /or skillsets:





Curro Holdings is a JSE-listed independent schooling provider that offers quality education from the early childhood development phase to Grade 12. Curro prides itself on providing an ethical, values-based environment and offers learner-centric, balanced, innovative and relevant curricula across schools.




Curro Holdings seeks to appoint a Facilities Manager (full-time) at Curro Midrand in Midrand to commence duties in January 2026







The Facilities Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and operational oversight of all school facilities including maintenance, security, cleaning, housekeeping, health and safety, catering, fleet, and asset management. This role ensures well-maintained, safe, and effective learning and working environments, aligned with the school's policies and budgetary requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Performance Areas:




Facilities Planning, Policies & Processes




Develop annual maintenance plans and schedules aligned to school budgets Design, implement, and enforce facilities, maintenance, and health & safety policies Oversee execution of facilities plans and adjust per school needs Maintain timelines and schedules for facilities upkeep



Facilities Maintenance




Assign duties across campuses and supervise performance Action on-site repairs where possible Log maintenance calls with Head Office Oversee contractors and ensure SLA compliance Prepare facilities for school events, maintain sports fields and markings Provide on-site support for buildings as needed



Security Management




Liaise with external security providers Serve as first point of contact for security issues Log and oversee repairs of security equipment Proactively monitor and maintain security infrastructure



Housekeeping & Catering




Plan and implement housekeeping/catering schedules Assign and supervise cleaning/catering duties Oversee event preparation and contractor performance Log maintenance calls as required Enforce school housekeeping and catering procedures



Health & Safety Management




Coordinate with Curro Head Office on health and safety requirements Complete and file all health and safety documentation Manage HS certification, equipment maintenance, and first aid arrangements Develop, manage, and communicate JOC procedures for school events



Fleet Management




Plan and execute maintenance of the school fleet Ensure roadworthiness and manage compliance, licensing, and insurance Manage fuel budgets, bus audits, and driver absenteeism Oversee bus security, storage, and appearance Serve as backup driver as required



Asset Management & Maintenance




Maintain and update registers for machinery and HS equipment Ensure staff receive correct training for equipment use Oversee proper storage and regular maintenance of all assets



Budget Management




Prepare annual budgets for maintenance, housekeeping, catering, and health & safety Monitor and manage expenditure Control procurement and ordering of commodities



Staff Management




Recruit, mentor, and manage facilities staff Conduct appraisals, manage leave and absenteeism Handle discipline (with referral to Executive Head if necessary) Promote staff development, retention, and high standards



Professional Conduct:




Maintain high standards of organisation, punctuality, and behaviour Demonstrate effective teamwork and interpersonal skills Uphold the ethos and values of the school in all actions Respond to communications promptly and professionally



Qualifications, experience and skills




Grade 12 (Matric) Must have a valid Driver's License Code 10 Driver's License (required for fleet management duties) 3-5 years' experience in Facilities Management (school or similar environment)
