Job Description

Grand Central Airport, based in Midrand, Gauteng, is seeking a reliable and skilled Facilities Assistant / Storeman to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in handyman work, facility maintenance, and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform general handyman duties including basic electrical, plumbing, and building repairs. Assist with fault finding and routine maintenance of facilities and equipment. Manage inventory control processes and maintain accurate stock records. Operate and maintain inventory control systems. Ensure proper handling and storage of hardware, building materials, and artisan tools. Collaborate with facilities management team on stock control. Support compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the store and workspaces.

Key Competencies:

Practical knowledge of hardware, building materials, and artisan tools. Strong command of English (verbal and written) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Detail-oriented and organized

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent Completed handyman and/or inventory control courses will be advantageous. 3+ years experience in facility maintenance or handyman work 3+ years experience with inventory control and inventory systems. Good knowledge on the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Exposure to the aviation industry will be an advantage.
