Develop and maintain strong consultative relationships with key specifiers: architects, designers, QS firms, developers, and contractors.
Regularly visit client offices and job sites for face-to-face presentations, showroom tours, CPDs, and lunch-and-learns.
Actively prospect new leads, nurture existing accounts, and convert interest into specification and orders.
2. Product Specification & Promotion
Present and promote the company's full tile range with emphasis on technical performance, design appeal, sustainability, and project suitability.
Assist clients during project planning phases to secure specification and avoid substitution.
Confidently demonstrate samples, product boards, and installation detailing.
3. Project Tracking & Conversion
Track the full lifecycle of projects: from concept to tender, to procurement and final delivery.
Liaise with internal logistics, pricing, and technical teams to ensure project continuity.
Monitor project progress and ensure follow-through to actual order placement.
4. Sales & Territory Management
Maintain and grow sales volumes within a defined territory.
Plan strategic call cycles and appointments to maximize productivity and sales pipeline.
Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets as defined by management.
5. Market Intelligence & Strategic Input
Keep informed on competitor products, architectural trends, and new builds in the pipeline.
Provide weekly feedback, sales forecasts, and reporting to the external sales head and CEO.
Collaborate with marketing and product development to align product positioning with market needs.
6. Technical & Design Support
Understand and explain technical specs (e.g., PEI, slip ratings, formats, rectified vs pressed edges, etc.).
Offer accurate guidance on installation techniques, surface prep, and maintenance best practices.
Resolve site issues or product questions in collaboration with internal departments.
7. Industry Engagement
Represent company at expos, networking events, and trade functions.
Host and organize CPDs, site tours, and showroom activations in partnership with design firms.
Candidate Profile:
Minimum Requirements
Three to five years in external sales in the tile, sanitaryware, flooring, or architectural finishes sector.
Demonstrated ability to work with professionals at specifier level (architects, interior designers, developers).
Deep product knowledge, including tile formats, technical specs, and installation.
Experience managing a project pipeline and navigating construction timelines.
Competencies & Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Confident presenter (small and large audiences).
Effective time management and pipeline discipline.
Familiarity with CRM systems and drawing tools (advantageous).
