Job Description


The Export Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the movement of goods and materials across borders. They play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and cost-effective import and export operations while complying with relevant regulations and optimizing supply chain processes.

MUST HAVE!!

  • 5+ years experience in export logistics management, preferably in the FMCG manufacturing industry - Dairy industry required
Import and Export Operations Management * Develop and implement import and export strategies and policies in line with business objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage the end-to-end logistics process, including shipping, customs clearance, and delivery of goods.
  • Ensure compliance with import and export regulations, including trade compliance laws, customs regulations, and international trade agreements.
  • Collaborate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transportation providers to optimize transportation routes, costs, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate import and export documentation, including shipping invoices, customs forms, and certificates of origin.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or delays.
Supply Chain Optimization * Evaluate and select suppliers and service providers based on their reliability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to manage inventory levels, anticipate demand, and ensure availability of goods.
  • Optimize warehouse and distribution processes to minimize inventory holding costs, reduce lead times, and improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the import and export logistics function.
Relationship Management * Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics partners.
  • Liaise with customs authorities and government agencies to address any compliance issues, resolve disputes, and obtain necessary permits and licenses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as sales, production, and finance, to ensure alignment of import and export activities with overall business objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to provide updates on shipment status, potential issues, and solutions.
Risk Management and Compliance * Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions to the supply chain.
  • Stay updated with changes in import/export regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to import/export policies and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain effective systems for import/export data management, including classification, document control and record-keeping.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Familiarity with shipping terms and international freight forwarding practices.
  • Computer Literacy in MS Office, with Intermediate Excel .
