Job Summary
We're Hiring: Experienced Toolmaker
Location: Isando, South Africa
Industry: Manufacturing | Plastic Packaging
Are you a skilled Toolmaker with a passion for precision engineering and mould maintenance? Join a leading player in the plastic packaging industry and work with a dedicated team in a dynamic, high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacture, maintain, and repair precision moulds and components according to technical drawings and specifications
Operate and maintain Toolroom machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
Perform fault finding and root cause analysis on moulds and related components
Liaise with management and production teams regarding production tooling issues and solutions
Prioritise workload according to business requirements and project schedules
Assess condition of returned tooling and initiate works orders as required
Keep accurate records and documentation for maintenance and repairs
Uphold Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ensure compliance with FSSC standards
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment in line with Health & Safety protocols
Support continuous improvement initiatives in tooling design, processes, and efficiency
Contribute to quality assurance processes and ensure tooling meets product quality standards
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 (Matric)
N2 Certificate minimum
Trade Tested Tool Jig and Die Maker (MERSETA)
10+ years' experience in a manufacturing/toolroom environment
Proficient in Lathe, Milling, Surface Grinding, and fault finding
Solid experience with extrusion blow moulding, injection moulding, and stretch blow moulding
Salary: Negotiable
