Job SummaryA leading medical services provider in Basra, Iraq, is urgently seeking a qualified Expat Clinical Lead Doctor to join their dedicated team operating in the oil and gas sector. This opportunity is ideal for South African medical professionals with a strong background in emergency care and a desire to gain international experience in a high-pressure, well-compensated environment.Key Details:

• Location: Alsaai District, Basra, Iraq
• Start Date: ASAP
• Rotation: 28 days on / 28 days off (two doctors alternating)
• Working Hours: 12-hour shifts (07:00-19:00) with overnight emergency call coverage
• Employment Type: Rotational with a 6-month probation (3 months on site)
• Remuneration: $350 per working day (approx. $9,800 per month while on site) - approximately R181,300

Payment Terms: Salary will be paid monthly to the employee's designated bank account. Note: Payment is made only for active days on site; no salary is paid during off-rotation.Accommodation & Lifestyle: Doctors will stay in oil field accommodation with access to transport to the nearby city (~50 km away) for shopping and leisure.Other Benefits: International medical insurance, accommodation, meals, and travel costs are fully covered.Key Responsibilities:

• Provide emergency medical care to personnel within the oil field
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
• Perform advanced lifesaving procedures including:

Endotracheal intubationRapid sequence intubationChest tube insertionTracheotomy * Conduct occupational health assessments and fitness-for-work evaluations

• Maintain thorough patient records and coordinate with onsite medical teams
• Respond to field emergencies and manage stabilisation for medical evacuations

Required Qualifications:

• Medical degree from a recognised institution
• Board certification in Emergency Medicine or Intensive Care, or minimum 5 years' emergency care experience
• Valid medical license and registration with a recognised medical board
• Current ATLS/ACLS or equivalent certification
• Proven ability to perform emergency lifesaving interventions
• Fluent in English
• Strong leadership and adaptability in remote and high-pressure environments
