Estimator Mechanical Engineering - DurbanFull job descriptionWe are looking for a skilled Pipeline and Structural Steel Estimator to join our team in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for pipeline and structural steel projects, ensuring competitive bids, and supporting project planning and execution.Responsibilities:Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for pipeline and structural steel projects.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather necessary information for estimating.Conduct material take-offs, labor assessments, and subcontractor quotes to determine project costs.Utilize estimating software and tools to generate detailed and competitive bids.Review and analyze project risks, opportunities, and scope changes to adjust estimates accordingly.Participate in bid reviews, negotiations, and client meetings to present and discuss estimates.Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project documentation for reference and analysis.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).Proven experience or ability the to showcase his/her skill as an estimator in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on pipeline and structural steel projects.Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.Proficiency in estimating software or excellent command of Microsoft Excel.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and with a team, to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.Familiarity with project management principles and practices.Benefits:Competitive salary.Opportunities for career growth and professional development.Collaborative work environment with a focus on innovation and excellence.Chance to work on challenging and impactful projects in the oil and gas sector.If you are a detail-oriented and experienced Pipeline and Structural Steel Estimator looking to contribute to exciting projects in the oil and gas industry, we invite you to apply for this position.
