Job Description
EPC Project Development Manager
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with design institutes to complete localized compliant designs for South Africa (including wind load-resistant structures, anti-theft electrical solutions, and adaptation to SANS/IEC standards). Establish and manage local South African supply chain networks: EPC subcontractors (licensed electricians, steel structure construction crews), equipment rental providers, and grid-connection testing agencies. Liaise with key permitting authorities: Municipal Planning Departments, Eskom (for grid connection approval), DMRE (Department of Mineral Resources and Energy), and Traditional Tribal Land Councils. Lead and manage on-site construction activities, with thorough familiarity of local South African project grid-connection approval processes. Possess knowledge of local South African construction cost structures to optimize EPC cost planning.
Requirements:
Full lifecycle EPC development experience in South African renewable energy projects (solar PV / energy storage). Possess established cooperative resources (subcontractors, design institutes, grid-connection consultants). Ability to make swift on-site decisions in response to incidents like theft, strikes, or extreme weather. Capable of adapting Chinese technical standards to align with local South African construction practices.
