Job Description
Where there is oil spillage, our clients need more than samples and reports, they need a leader who can manage the science, reassure stakeholders, and keep projects moving. We're looking for a seasoned specialist who thrives on both the technical and the human side of environmental work. This is a Durban-based role - perfect for someone rooted in the city or returning with networks in place. It's a chance to step into a visible, high-impact position with scope to progress into senior leadership.
- BSc Honours in Earth Sciences, Pr.Sci.Nat. with SACNASP
- 6 - 10 years' experience in Land Contamination (petrochem focus, organics, soils, groundwater)
- Strong leadership - able to mentor juniors, lead EIA/contamination projects, and grow business opportunities
- Hands-on expertise: fieldwork, sampling, lab liaison, reporting, ISO compliance, safety and quality
- Business acumen: quotes, client relationships, finances, integration with group offices
- Court-ready authority - able to sign off reports and serve as an expert witness when required
