We are seeking an Auxiliary Nurse who is compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented for our frail care and sub-acute facility in Douglasdale, Johannesburg.

Minimum Requirements

5-10 years' experience in a leading role in a ward. Must be registered with the relevant authorities. Must perform all duties required in the scope of practice for a Enrolled Auxiliary Nurse. Experience in Geriatric care.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist Registered Nurses with basic patient care duties. Monitor and record vital signs. Assist with emergency call-outs. Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding). Change bed linen and maintain patient comfort. Assist with mobility and positioning of patients. Perform basic wound care under supervision. Report changes in patient condition to nursing staff. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided. Follow infection control protocols. Support a safe, clean, and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Requirements

Registered with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Auxiliary Nurse. Good observation and reporting skills. Basic knowledge of medication administration under supervision. Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team. Compassionate approach to patient care. Physical stamina to assist with patient transfers and positioning. Good communication skills in English and preferably one additional South African language. Must be able to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
