Enrolled Nursing Assistant (ena) – Medical Ward

Job Description
The purpose of the Enrolled Nursing Assistant role is to support Registered and Enrolled Nurses in delivering safe, compassionate, and basic nursing care to patients in the medical ward. The ENA contributes to patient comfort, dignity, and daily care needs while ensuring adherence to infection prevention, safety standards, and hospital protocols. This role is essential in maintaining continuity of care and supporting the overall functioning and efficiency of the ward.

Key Work Output and Accountabilities:
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, feeding, and mobility Perform basic nursing care tasks under supervision and within scope of practice Observe, monitor, and report patient conditions to the professional nurse Assist with patient admissions and discharges Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety within the ward Support infection prevention and control measures Uphold patient dignity, rights, and confidentiality at all times

Requirements
Previous experience in a medical ward will be advantageous Ability to work effectively within a team Willingness to work shifts

Qualifications
Enrolled Nursing Assistant qualification Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
