Position is available to provide full nursing care functions.
The successful candidate will take charge of the ward including compliance with all standard operating procedures, reporting, effective recordkeeping, and in-service training of sub-ordinates.
Competency and other requirements:
SANC registered.
Minimum 2 years' proven work experience in Geriatric Care.
Ability to think independently and show initiative, willingness to go the extra mile.
Confidentiality, integrity, and discretion of utmost importance.
Strong organising -, time management- and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
Excellent language skills in Afrikaans and English (written and spoken).
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be able to work shifts (Day or Night duty).
Ability to work under pressure, while remaining composed and compassionate.
Key responsibilities:
Ongoing holistic assessment of residents, including physical, mental, and social wellbeing.
Planning, implementation, and monitoring of person-directed care plans for residents.
Consulting with - and coordinating the multidisciplinary team members reviewing resident care plans.
Management of and participation in the teams delivering care in a 24/7 environment and accept other reasonable tasks not listed.
Executing duties and responsibilities according to professional scope of practice, including but not limited to:
- Accurate reporting and recordkeeping according to company policies and legal requirements.
- Medication management as per script and regulations, as well as knowledge on Blister packs.
Function as part of the team at supervisory level and provide training to sub-ordinates where training needs were identified.
Communication with residents' family in a professional manner.
