Key Responsibilities:
Resident Care & Clinical Duties
Conduct initial and monthly health assessments for all residents
Assist in the development and implementation of individualised nursing care plans
Provide daily nursing care and monitor residents' response to treatment
Administer medication in line with SANC regulations and care plans
Report changes in residents' health to the Professional Nurse or doctor
Ensure residents' basic needs are met, including mobility, hygiene, nutrition, and emotional support
Record observations, treatments, incidents, and resident interactions accurately
Operational Support
Support the orientation of new residents and staff
Assist in implementing infection control and hygiene protocols
Maintain equipment and report malfunctions or shortages
Participate in fire drills, emergency procedures, and safety protocols
Attend official meetings and in-service training as required
Team Collaboration & Communication
Work under the supervision of a Professional Nurse
Delegate duties appropriately based on staff competencies
Promote teamwork and a positive work environment
Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and respectful communication at all times
Facility Maintenance
Ensure the facility and its surroundings are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
Identify and address hazards and damage proactively through regular inspections.
What We're Looking For:
Registered with the
South African Nursing Council (SANC)
as an
Enrolled Nurse
Prior experience in
frail care, sub-acute, or geriatric nursing
is advantageous
Strong clinical observation, record-keeping, and communication skills
Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
A compassionate, resident-centred approach to care
Reliable, professional, and committed to ethical nursing practice
Tech-savvy and able to manage digital systems (e.g., DigiAge, TGO).
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
