VACANCY: ENROLLED NURSE - NIGHT SHIFT (FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Enrolled Nurse to join our night team on a fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and be passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a structured, team-based environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES - ASSITIVE CARE FOR RESIDENT
You will be responsible for providing high-level, individualised frail care, including:
Frequent repositioning and monitoring of skin integrity
Full personal hygiene and incontinence care
Monitoring of vital signs and overall health status
PEG feeding support and fluid/nutrition monitoring
Administering scheduled medication (within scope) and under supervision of RN via PEG
Accurate and timely documentation of all care provided
Immediate escalation of medical or behavioural concerns
GENERAL DUTIES - ALL RESIDENTS
Collaborate with the Registered Nurse (on duty 16:00-21:00) and fellow night shift Enrolled Nurse
Perform hourly rounds and respond promptly to residents' needs
Support residents who are restless or awake to ensure calm and comfort
Assist with hygiene, bed changes, toileting, and night-time medication
Monitor health changes and escalate to the on-call Registered Nurse
Maintain detailed nursing notes and complete the night report
COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION
Work respectfully with care providers to ensure holistic care
Provide clinical guidance without assuming a supervisory role
Participate in collaborative problem-solving and team discussions
Ensure effective handover and communication with incoming shifts
Report incidents, changes in condition, and concerns clearly and promptly
COMPLIANCE & INFECTION CONTROL
Follow infection prevention and PPE protocols
Maintain equipment hygiene and adhere to SANC and facility standards
Uphold ethical nursing practices at all times
SKILLS REQUIRED
Must have the ability to work with individuals with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviour.
Must have the ability to multi-task
Good cooking and baking skills and experience
Sourcing of innovate and appropriate items that could be added to the menu
Excellent planning and time management skills
The ability to read and follow a recipe
A friendly, calm, presentable and professional demeanour
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Highly responsible and dependable
Highly motivated, energetic and ability to function under pressure.
Team player
Strong documentation and observational skills
REQUIREMENTS
Valid SANC registration as an Enrolled Nurse
Proven experience
Willingness to work night shifts, including weekends and public holidays
Valid Driver's licence and own reliable transport
Police Clearance Certificate
Afrikaans and English (read, speak, write) compulsory.
