We have an exciting position for an Engineering Supervisor DMS Conveyor. The Engineering Supervisor will supervise a team to safely deliver repair and maintenance activities of mobile equipment on shift, consistent with agreed performance standards, and in-line with the operating master schedule of the broader operation/site.

Kumba Iron Ore

We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects - exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Rosebank, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.



As an Engineering Supervisor DMS Conveyor, you will be responsible for the following:

• Deliver the shift plan within the context of the weekly plan and the requirements for the month, always considering what is needed to set up oncoming shifts for success
• Plan, implement, and manage maintenance schedules while taking cognisance of production targets to ensure minimal production interruption.
• Maintain equipment, machines, processes and tools in a manner that maximises availability with the required quality standards complied with.
• Identify improvement opportunities and implement these where feasible and maintain the new standards of performance.
• Execute QA/QC and inspection of tasks.
• Provide technical knowledge and guidance to team members on daily problem solving
• Conduct admin HR work and KPI reporting for team
• Conduct safety investigations.
• Comply to the Asset Management policy and systems requirements
• Utilise systems provided to monitor expenditure.
• Participate in the review and development of the Service Strategies and monitor the measures to verify its delivery
• Execute inspection strategy and coordination of activities relating to asset integrity in relevant area.
• Provide input on Equipment and Components PMECA.
• Execute activities to meet the plan and assist with defining the requirements of the SLA between Maintenance and Supply Chain.
• Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities
• Act as a role model and reinforce a workplace culture where safety and health for the site is paramount
• Provide an environment for team to challenge and act on unsafe behaviours without repercussions

This role is within the AS&R Plant Maintenance Department at a Band 7 reporting to the Section Engineering Manager Jig Crushing and Outside Services.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Trade Certificate - Mechanical
• N4 Engineering Certificate
• Code 08 Drivers Licence

Experience:

3 - 5 years operational experience in maintenance on conveyor belt.
