Job Title: SDN/NFV Onsite Technical Manager / Coordinator (HPE NFVO, 5G Core Networks & Cloud platform)
Role Summary:
SDN/NFV Onsite Technical Manager/Coordinator will lead the end-to-end lifecycle of onboarding, testing, and operationalization of virtualized and containerized network functions (VNFs/CNFs) from multiple OEM vendors onto the operator's NFV/Cloud and SDN transport domains. A core focus of the role is hands-on execution using HPE NFVO (HPE NFV Orchestrator) to design service packages, integrate descriptors (VNFD/NSD/Helm charts), perform lifecycle actions (instantiate, scale, heal, update), and ensure closed-loop automation with monitoring and fault management. The role bridges engineering, operations, vendor coordination, and customer stakeholders, driving delivery quality, compliance, and performance in Wireless Core (3G/4G/5G) network.
Roles & Responsibilities:

• NFVO & MANO Execution:

• End-to-end onboarding of VNF/CNFs within HPE NFVO: package preparation, VNFD/CNF charts validation, NSD composition, parameterization, and service model design (including day-0/day-1/day-2 configs)
• Lifecycle Management of VNF/CNFs (instantiate/scale/heal/terminate) and supervise rolling upgrades and patching for VNFs/CNFs.
• Integrate VIM (OpenStack/KVM, Kubernetes) and ensure resource orchestration alignment (compute, storage, SR-IOV/DPDK, NUMA pinning).
• 5G Core Function Onboarding

• Lead onboarding of wireless Core network functions from the OEM vendors like Ericsson, Huawei & ZTE
• Translate OEM deployment guides into Helm values, Day-1 configs, interface bindings, exposure to Cluster IP, Load Balancer etc.,
• Environment Readiness Co-ordination & Confirmation

• Coordination with Telco teams w.r.t environment (OpenStack cloud/K8S cloud platform) readiness for onboarding the VNF/CNFs
• Confirm on NFVI readiness: compute/storage capacity, image registries, signing/trust, PKI/cert lifecycle, RBAC and multi-tenancy.
• Observability & Closed-Loop Automation

• Integrate telemetry: Elastic/Log pipelines, Kafka/event bus, SNMP/Netconf as needed; define KPIs for each NF.
• Design policies for auto-scale and auto-heal (e.g., UPF scale-out on throughput/CPU, AMF/SMF pod recovery on health failures).
• Establish Golden Runbooks and SOPs for fault triage, RCA, and MTTR minimization

• Governance, Change & Compliance

• Maintain ETSI NFV MANO compliance; uphold security (RBAC, image signing, secrets rotation, audit logging).
• Manage release trains, migration/cutover plans, Go/No-Go criteria, and rollback/DR strategies; prepare CAB documentation.
• Keep delivery trackers, risk logs, and executive dashboards updated; provide regular status to architecture/operations leadership.
• Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Act as onsite point of contact for OEM vendors, Infra/Cloud teams, Network Operations Security, and Telco Architecture.
• Run technical workshops, HLD/LLD reviews, UATs, performance soak tests, and final cutovers; coordinate multi-domain dependencies.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Technical

• Hands-on experience with HPE NFVO (e.g., HPE NFV Orchestrator): service package creation, descriptor modeling (VNFD/NSD), policy/LCM workflows.
• Deep understanding of Wireless Core Network architecture (3G/4G/5G), & control/user plane separation.
• CNF/VNF deployment expertise on Kubernetes/OpenStack/; Helm/Operators, config maps/secrets, affinity/anti-affinity.
• Automation: Ansible, Python, Bash; CI/CD for NF onboarding;
• Observability: ELK/Elastic, Kafka; packet analysis tools (tcpdump/Wireshark), pcap traceability.
• Security & Compliance: TLS/mTLS, cert mgmt, OAuth2, LDAP/AAA, image signing, RBAC/multi-tenant isolation.
• Professional

• 10-15+ years in Telco Cloud/NFV/SDN; 3-5+ years hands-on with NFVO (preferably HPE).
• Strong vendor coordination and customer-facing delivery leadership across lab/preprod/prod.
• Proven delivery of cutovers, RCA ownership, and SLA assurance in production Wireless network environments.
• Educational Qualificaitons:

• B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA in ECE/EEE/CSE (or equivalent).
