POSITION: ENGINEERING MANAGER DIVISION: MANUFACTURING xe2x80x93 WELLINGTONREPORTING TO: GENERAL MANAGER: OPERATIONSPURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide an all inclusive asset management for the safe and efficient operations of plant and equipment. Ensure all asset management functions are planned, competent and adequate resources are allocated, competencies are acquired and developed and a culture of prevention and continual improvement is introduced.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESMaintenance SystemsEnsure plant and equipment availability to meet production schedules and delivery datesProvide advanced technical guidance and advisory service to own staff and all other departmentsImplement reporting and control measures for improvement of maintenance efficiencies (cost, quality, equipment availability)PlanningInitiate continuous improvement programmes to ensure optimal maintenance capabilityDevelop and implement a strategic plan (1-3 years) to address upgrading of plants and replacement of obsolete equipmentMaintain the ERP plant equipment dataDraw-up, approve and schedule maintenance task for preventative maintenance according to production schedulesLeadership and managementEnsuring compliance to all statutory requirements with regards to plant and equipmentEstablish training requirements for all maintenance disciplinesDevelop succession plans for all maintenance disciplinesDevelop internal maintenance policies in line with broader company policiesContract and assess subordinates through proper goal alignment & calibrate results of assessments across departmentsEffectively communicate and build relationships with peers, subordinates, senior management and customersDepartment administrationManagement of Steam Generation FacilitySchedule and generation of steam to all production facilities according to their production schedules.Monitor efficiency of boilers and planning of coal deliveries.Ensure 3 yearly statutory inspections, repairs and any other required maintenance requirements are completedMonitor and ensure boiler emissions are with limits as per the relevant Atmospheric Emissions LicenceSite ServicesMaintenance of the sitexe2x80x99s terrain and piping infrastructureCompressed air supply to all facilitiesElectricity supply to all facilities, monitoring and measuring per facilityWater supply to all facilities, monitoring and measuring per facilityMaintenance of the roads in the site, gravel and tar roadsContract technical scoping and administration (maintenance services)Safety ManagementChairperson of Modification CommitteeContractor management for maintenance workPerform Audits across different disciplines and implement corrective actions for audit findings in own responsibility areas.Incident Investigations, findings and corrective actions for Engineering facilitiesAssess safety consequences of any modification/change in plant and equipmentAppointed as designated competent person under OHS Act, General Machinery Regulation 2.1POST REQUIREMENTS:Minimum BEng/BSc or BTech in Mechanical/Electrical EngineeringGovernment Certificate Competency (GCC Factories) as pre-requisite, registration as Pr Eng preferredMust have at least 6 years of experience in Mechanical & Electrical maintenance in a Chemical/Petrochemical Plant environment of which 3 years should have been in a supervisory/management role.Experience in Project Management would be advantageous.Knowledge of hazardous chemicals, in particular explosives, is preferredMust have proven knowledge and experience in steam generation (Boilers Management), refrigeration plants (Freon or Ammonia) and air compressorsSound knowledge of OHS Act and Legal Liability, including ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001 standards, is importantPerformance and strategic management skillsFinancial management skills would be advantageous.visit https://towergroup.co.za/candidates/?job_id=3182941870
