Engineering Manager - Parow, WCThe Strategic Fuel Fund Association (SFF), a subsidiary of the Central Energy Fund (CEF), manages crude oil storage facilities in the Western Cape, and environmental protection against oil pollution.SFF currently seeks to employ an ENGINEERING MANAGER (24 Month fixed term contract) in Capital Projects based in Parow, Cape Town.PURPOSE The purpose of this position is to lead, direct and manage the implementation of the Asset Management and Engineering Project Management within SFFxe2x80x99s Operating Assets and Capital Projects Division, in the most cost effective and optimal manner while ensuring the safety of employees, integrity of machinery and equipment and meeting all regulatory and statutory requirements.ResponsibilitiesLead, direct and manage the implementation of the Asset Management and Engineering Project Management within SFFxe2x80x99s Operating Assets and Capital Projects Division, in the most cost effective and optimal manner while ensuring the safety of employees, integrity of machinery and equipment and meeting all regulatory and statutory requirements.Lead and drive the maximization of asset availability and maintenance to ensure optimal asset performance, employee safety and compliance to regulatory standards.Direct the inspection of equipment and machinery provided to SFF Operations by ensuring compliance to statutory requirements, and maintenance and engineering activities are planned and coordinated to ensure maximum equipment availability.Direct and monitor the identification of all major risks and the development and implementation of mitigating action plans, to ensure sustainability of SFFxe2x80x99s operating assets.Direct, manage and monitor that all procurement and contracts entered into meet all legislative and regulatory requirements.Direct, monitor and report on the engineering planning and implementation of capital projects through the entire engineering design and construction of capital projects (detailed engineering design, HAZOP, procurement strategy, construction and installation, commissioning and handover) to ensure the project objectives have been achieved and the project meets all SHEQ, regulatory and technical standards.Evaluate and report on national and international trends in engineering technology and equipment in order to stay abreast of technological trends and best practice.Prepare the operational budget for approval by Capital Projects Executive and report actual against the budget, explaining any variations.Manage the development and implementation of a personal learning and growth plan to ensure ongoing learning and development.Manage the performance, development and implementation of subordinate learning and growth plans and provide coaching and mentoring to ensure ongoing learning and development.Qualifications and ExperienceA Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree in EngineeringA relevant post graduate qualification would be an added advantage.10 yearsxe2x80x99 experience within Petroleum Industry (Ports, Terminals and Refineries).Minimum 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in Senior Management with Asset Management and Project Development (Ports, Terminals and Refineries).The closing date for this position is: 13 October 2023SFF is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to the principles of Employment Equity.
