Job Description

Our client in the Logistics industry is currently looking for an Engineering Manager, in Johannesburg.

Responsibilities:

• Implement Technical Engineering plans and programs to develop and facilitate the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities in line with business strategy and objectives, Group guidelines and policies.
• Reporting to the Head of Engineering and Infrastructure.
• Develop, facilitate, and implement the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of Technical Engineering plans and programs relating to process flows, equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities.
• Schedule, prioritize and manage production, operations, quality assurance, testing, or maintenance.
• Analyze and implement operational plan and have specific areas of accountability in its execution.
• Define process for research and development of new products and procedures and discuss and lay out project specifications.
• Deploy best practices for PPE use and safe work practices adherence.
• Schedule, prioritize and manage all necessary maintenance and construction work and perform preliminary and intermediate inspection of maintenance and construction work to ensure proper workmanship, materials and conformance to work methods and safety regulations.
• Analyze and implement plans for scheduled facility modifications, analyze extensively equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs.
• Analyze process flow efficiencies and develop, design, specify and implement optimized process flow.
• Instruct, direct and review work produced by the team and ensure company standards.
• Convince other subject matter experts to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.
• May cooperate with and coordinate 3rd parties e.g., external service providers.
• Build strong, trusting cross-functional relationships with managers.
• Understand customer and key stakeholdersxe2x80x99 interests and concerns and advise direct reports, customers, and key stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees.
• Individual contributor who may manage two or fewer employees.
• May direct the work of other lower-level professionals or manage processes and programs.
• Coach, review and delegate work to lower-level professionals.

• Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree (Engineering).
• 6+ Engineering experience years.
• Professional Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa or other recognized International Engineering Body.

• R900 000 xe2x80x93 R1.1 mil CTC per annum.
