Our client is is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with a GCC Mines and background in iron ore or manganese mining environments to lead the engineering maintenance for both fixed and mobile plant on site in the Northern Cape, South Africa.
Responsibilities:

• Driving, implementing and managing engineering standards.

• Overseeing the technical and maintenance teams for projects, infrastructure, services and operations.

• Leading continuous improvement initiatives for the optimization of design, operations and maintenance costs.

• Budgeting and cost control.

• Ensuring work is carried out in line with quality standards while maintaining lowest possible cost.

• Championing early equipment management and planned maintenance.

• Improvement of site infrastructure and services needs while reducing waste.

• Contractor management to ensure legal and statutory compliance.

• Spares and consumables management.

• Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained.

• Mentoring and training subordinates.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.

• GCC Mines and Works essential.

• MBA or similar postgraduate management qualification preferred.

• 10 years' experience in engineering maintenance for both fixed plant and mobile equipment in open pit mining environments, with at least 5 years in management level roles.

• Sound knowledge of MHSA legal appointments and statutory compliance.

• Computer literate in Microsoft office and computerized maintenance systems.

• Strong people management and leadership skills with the ability to ensure engineering strategy is aligned to production targets.

• Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment with high-level decision making and accountability.

• Currently based in South Africa and willing to relocate to the Northern Cape.
