Engineering Manager : GCC and Engineering degree

Our client requires an Engineering Manager to fulfil this senior legal, technical, and leadership role.
The appointed person will ensure that the plant is designed, operated, and maintained safely, legally, and efficiently, in line with South African legislation.
Qualification:
BEng or B. Tech or equivalent
Government Certificate of Competency (Manufacturing plant) - GCC
At least 10 years of experience in a leadership role.
Minimum 8 years' engineering experience in a chemical/petrochemical / heavy industrial environment
Proven experience with pressure equipment, statutory inspections, and legal compliance
Strong knowledge of the OHS Act, PER, and relevant SANS standards
Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
Responsibilities
Compliance with OHS Act, PER, and SANS standards.
Ensuring competent persons operate and maintain plant equipment
Being the appointed legal engineer in case of incidents or audits
Lead all engineering disciplines,
Set engineering standards and philosophies
Approve designs, calculations, and specifications
Ensure equipment selection suits chemical service (corrosion, temperature, pressure)
Align engineering strategy with production and safety goals
Manage Plant reliability
Process Safety & Risk Management
Capital Projects & Modifications
Ensuring modifications comply with: OHS Act, Plant standards, Commissioning and handover
Lead engineers, technicians, and artisans
Manage engineering budgets
Develop succession plans
Mentor junior engineers toward GCC
Interface with operations, SHEQ, and senior management
