The Engineer in Training (EIT) is an entry-level position for recent engineering graduates who are working toward professional gaining industry experience in the explosives manufacturing industry. Under the supervision of experienced engineers, the EIT assists in the design, analysis, testing, and implementation of engineering projects. This role provides hands-on experience and professional development in preparation for becoming a Project Engineer.
Qualifications
BSC Engineering (Mechanical)/ B. Tech Engineering
Experience
Internship or co-op experience in an engineering environment
Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies
Basic understanding of industry-specific regulations and standards
Duties
Project Support:
Assist in the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects
Conduct site visits, inspections, and data collection
Prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation
Technical Analysis:
Perform calculations, simulations, and modeling under supervision
Use engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or industry-specific tools)
Collaboration:
Work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and cross-functional teams
Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions
Compliance & Standards:
Ensure work adheres to industry codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Stay updated on engineering best practices and emerging technologies
Professional Development:
Work toward gaining experience to be able to operate as a Project Engineer
Attend training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programs

Engineering and Technology -- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
Mathematics -- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
Design -- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
Mechanical -- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
