Crew Life At Sea is currently recruiting Marine Engineers on behalf of a leading cruise line partner. This rewarding role provides oversight and operation of the ships propulsion, power generation, and auxiliary systems, ensuring the safe and efficient running of all mechanical and electrical equipment onboard. Working as part of the onboard engineering team, the Marine Engineer will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair technical systems, contribute to safety compliance, and support the smooth operation of the vessel in a multicultural, dynamic environment at sea.
All placements are made directly with the cruise line. Crew Life At Sea does not charge any recruitment or placement fees.
Role Responsibilities:
Operate, monitor, and maintain the ships propulsion systems, generators, boilers, pumps, HVAC, and electrical systems
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment
Stand engine room watch, responding to alarms and monitoring system performance
Supervise and train junior engineers and engine room ratings
Maintain accurate logs, maintenance records, and incident reports
Ensure all safety, firefighting, and emergency systems are fully operational
Ensure compliance with company policies, manufacturer instructions, classification society rules, and international maritime regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW)
Assist in planning maintenance schedules, managing spare parts inventory, and preparing technical reports
Collaborate with other departments to support overall ship operations
Participate in emergency drills, outages, and drydock/refit activities

Who Were Looking For:
Bachelors degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Appropriate maritime engineering license or certificate (e.g., 2nd Engineer Unlimited License)
Valid STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping) certificates
35 years of relevant marine or shipboard engineering experience, cruise ship experience preferred
Strong knowledge of shipboard systems, including propulsion, electrical, HVAC, and safety systems
Familiarity with international maritime regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code)
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Leadership and supervisory experience for junior engineering staff
Effective communication skills in English and ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment
Commitment to safety, problem-solving, and teamwork under pressure
