Minimum Requirements

Higher Certificate in Emergency Medical Care is essential American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers serves as an advantage 1-year operational experience as an Emergency Care Assistant A valid drivers' license and valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) (Requirement for Operations shifts. If only going to work events, no PrDP required)

Required job skills and knowledge:

Duties and Responsibilities

The Emergency Care Assistant (ECA) will practice as clinical assistants within the emergency medical care and rescue environment thereby replacing the Basic Ambulance Assistant Course as the entry qualification into the emergency medical services. This position is an entry-level qualification and recognises the key competencies required of Emergency Care Assistants (ECAs) who will work under the guidance of Emergency Care Technicians, Emergency Care Practitioners and Medical Officers in a variety of contexts. In general, the Emergency Care Assistant will provide a supportive service within the pre-hospital context.
