Purpose of the role

The Email Marketing HTML Specialist is an integral part of the marketing function within Sanlam Investments. The incumbent should be a junior or intermediate HTML developer with abilities that extend from building and coding email, to managing various Wordpress websites in terms of onsite-updates and routine backend maintenance. With agency background ideally, the incumbent should illustrate a meticulous attention to detail, be familiar with marketing processes, be flexible and able to manage multiple simultaneous projects, and be confident enough to deal with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaising with internals stakeholder regarding business briefs, and coding / designing the outputs accordingly.
• Be responsible for supporting the email marketing function of the business.
• Re-purpose existing email designs or designing new templates in line with email marketing best practice.
• Image sourcing and picture editing for articles and home page banners.
• Upload content to CMS (Wordpress)
• Ensuring all content is maintained to a high-quality standard and kept updated.
• A strong understanding of content management and marketing.
• IT relationship management.

Minimum requirements

Qualifications/Experience

• Matric and relevant tertiary qualification
• Minimum of 2 - 3 years' experience in Email HTML Marketing or similar role

Technical Competencies:

• Background in email marketing and HTML coding.
• Knowledge of bulk email tools (IBM, Everlytic, Graphic Mail, etc.).
• Knowledge of Wordpress CMS tools & plug-ins.
• Proficiency in building Wordpress pages, and coding new requirements into existing websits.
• Working knowledge of dev and test environments within corporate environments.
• Technical proficiency of available web infrastructure (intermediate).
• Knowledge of HTML design.
• Competent in analytics and interpreting email marketing reporting.
• Ability to interpret analytics and compile digital marketing, specifically email, reports.
• Agency experience would be advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Questioning and listening skills.
• Financial services background is advantageous.
