Email Campaign Manager

A small but well known company is seeking an experienced Email Campaign Manager to join their Cape Town-based team in a full-time position.
This is a dynamic, client-facing position focused on designing and managing high-impact email and SMS campaigns for clients in luxury brands and entertainment across South Africa. The role combines creativity, strategy, and execution - offering the opportunity to craft campaigns that shape engagement. Ideal for someone with a digital or agency marketing background, this role requires a strong sense of design and the ability to guide clients with confidence while delivering measurable results.
This position offers agency like exposure without working in an agency. It would be a great step out of the pressure of agency into an organisation that allows for better focus and more meaningful and creative work. Project Management would be essential for this role.
The ideal candidate will manage email campaigning end to end, from client and briefing to advising, to crafting beautiful mailers thought to reporting. Long term, you can grow to manage other types of campaigns within the company.
Duties and responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end email campaigns for restaurant clients, from brief to post-campaign reporting.
• Set up, design, test, and schedule campaigns in email marketing tools.
• Segment and schedule SMS marketing campaigns using internal tools.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear, proactive communication.
• Advise clients on best practices including subject lines, design, timing, database use, and compliance.
• Ensure all campaigns are mobile-responsive, brand-aligned, and performance-optimised.
• Deliver detailed performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate invoicing and client notes.
• Recommend complementary tools and services where relevant, such as booking links or event prepayments.
• Create and refine visually engaging email templates aligned with client brand guidelines.
• Use design tools like Figma, Canva, or Photoshop to develop campaign assets.
• Ensure design consistency in fonts, colours, spacing, and brand elements across emails.
• Manage multiple client accounts and campaigns while meeting all deadlines.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client marketing campaigns.
• Collaborate with Customer Success, Finance, and Marketing teams for streamlined operations.
• Uphold agency-level service standards in campaign delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Design, Communications, Business, or a related field.
• 3-5 years experience in email marketing, campaign management, and digital or agency marketing.
• Proficiency with email marketing platforms such as Everlytic, Mailchimp, HubSpot, or Klaviyo.
• Strong project and client management capabilities.
• Acute design sense with attention to layout, typography, and mobile responsiveness.
• Proficiency in design tools including Figma, Canva, or Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
• Experience developing email templates and design systems.
• Ability to translate brand guidelines into compelling visual designs.
• Understanding of design's impact on campaign performance metrics.
• Knowledge of email compliance regulations and performance best practices.
• Analytical skills with the ability to draw insights from campaign data.
• Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Clear, empathetic communicator adept at client guidance and consultation.
