Job Description
A company that promotes and supports science and technology has a vacancy for an Electronics Engineering Manager to lead the electronics engineering division into a high-performing team that designs, builds, tests and commissions electronic instrumentation as well as control and monitor software systems. The position will be based in the Helderberg area of Cape Town.
Responsibilities:
- Manage electronic engineering division.
- Determine requirements and develop electronic instrumentation and control instrumentation for research departments.
- Maintain and develop instrumentation and related control systems.
- Train and mentor staff in an agile environment.
- Research and implement new ways of solving electronic and instrumentation engineering.
- MSc/MEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience or a BSC Eng./B.Eng. with 8 yearsxe2x80x99 experience
- inclusive of 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a management position
- Experience with and knowledge of radio frequency, analogue, digital, and high-speed digital electronics.
- Experience with digital signal processioning techniques, hardware description language design, embedded programming, Linux.
- Excellent software programming skills
- Basic understanding of radiation safety (advantageous)
