The Electronics Engineer role is responsible for assisting the operations manager with the design, development, testing and maintenance of equipment used within the transportation systems implemented by the company
Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Working under the general direction with minimal guidance from the Operational Manager the Electrical Engineer will work collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team, undertake the following high-level responsibilities in a professional manner:
• Conferring with customers, transport engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential equipment requirements used within Public Transport solutions.
• Prepare, implement, and communicate quality assurance plan and requirements to all project stakeholders.
• Ensuring that installation, maintenance, and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications and technical drawings.
• Establishing manufacturing or installation standards or specifications.
• Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.
• Prepare specifications for purchasing of equipment and materials.
• Conduct on-site inspections of all installation activities on regular basis. Participates in the selection of contracted staff.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities and provides advice on testing and commissioning procedures and documentation.
• Supervising of training project and client technical team members.
• Estimating material and labour costs for budget preparation.
• Working with a variety of technicians.
• Undertake any other reasonable tasks consistent with training and skill levels required for this position as requested.

Education and Experience

• A Bachelors degree in engineering or a closely related field from an accredited university.
• Four (4) years of (full-time equivalent) verifiable professional experience in engineering project administration. Experience in the commissioning of Transportation systems will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of applicable standards related to electronic engineering.
• Experience in design of electrical equipment and devices
• Highly computer literate

Special Conditions

• The position will require travel within Africa and occasionally overseas.
• All air travel is economy class.
