Job Description
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Matric certificate/ equivalent
Section 13 Trade Test or Section 26D as a qualified electrician
Competent B certification is an advantage
Valid Driver's License
Medically fit
Valid medium voltage certification will be advantageous
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
At least 3 years' underground trackless development experience
Trackless experience with major OEM (Sandvik, Epiroc and Normet) will be advantageous
Equipment installation, repair, and maintenance in Decline infrastructure
Substation procedures, Installation, and maintenance
Working knowledge of the Mine, Health & Safety Act and Regulations
Ensure appropriate usage of machinery, equipment, tools & material
Understanding and use of asset management systems
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Report on all incidents and accidents
Risk assessments must be carried out for each task
Ensure tools and equipment is sufficient, in good condition and safe to use
All legal inspections must be carried out according to the time intervals and a true report is recorded in the record book
Report and act on all unsafe conditions and unsafe acts
Be responsible for his/her sub-ordinates, maintenance schedules are to be adhered to,
Ensure that all the spares and tools are available for the service
Ensure that the housekeeping in the workshop/working area is adequate to carry out maintenance work
