Job Description
: Join our leading solar construction company based in the Western Cape as we pave the way toward sustainable energy solutions. Were looking for a dedicated Electrician, specializing in troubleshooting and inverter commissioning, to ensure our solar PV systems operate at peak efficiency. This role offers the chance to work on innovative renewable energy projects across the region, providing essential electrical expertise from installation to maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues within solar PV systems, ensuring optimal operation.
- Commission a variety of solar inverters, setting up systems for efficient energy conversion.
- Work closely with our Solar Construction Manager and lead a team in executing project plans and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards across solar PV installations.
- Collaborate with engineers and other specialists to deliver high-quality, reliable solar energy solutions.
N3 certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with a pass in mathematics, engineering science, and electrical trade theory (or Electro-technology).
Wiremans License and registration with the Department of Labour (DoL) as an installation electrician, with proof of knowledge in the legislation and relevant health and safety standards.
Minimum of 3 years experience in electrical work, with a preference for experience in the solar industry or related fields.
Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience.
Skills and Proficiencies:
Expertise in electrical systems and solar PV technology, with a focus on troubleshooting and inverter commissioning.
Strong leadership skills, capable of leading and mentoring a team.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Proficient in the use of electrical diagnostic tools and software relevant to the solar industry.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel across the Western Cape.
